Nurturing Confidence through Education: Daniela Macapagal

Coming from Barangay 20 in Tondo, Daniela knew that fortunate enough for her mother to discover the ERDA while she was still young. She has been an ERDA scholar since she was in the 5th grade, and has been supported by the foundation all the way until college. In her basic education she received school supplies and uniforms, but as a college student she was able to receive monetary assistance.

However, ERDA was able to give Daniela opportunities to be able to be more confident in herself, to be able to speak up for injustices when she sees them. The leadership trainings taught her not only how to make good decisions in group settings, but also how to handle working with other people efficiently and effectively. Thanks to all the efforts put in by ERDA and Daniela, she was able to become a leader not just in her school but in ERDA as well.

As she is currently taking her undergraduate degree in psychology, and as such has been able to organize activities for her fellow Psych majors, such as raffles and Psychology Week. She is also a Junior Educator and helps tutor the younger ERDA scholars, and is part of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay 20 in Tondo.

After growing up to be a confident young woman, she still remembers where she came from and remembers the essential presence in her life that was the ERDA foundation.
